The Gardens of Gargareth

The Dead One, struck down by the gods and long thought destroyed, rises from the scalding sand to wreak its revenge at last! Through secret mouths it recites its vows: to lay the gods to rest and to sing at last the final spell...

The Gardens of Gargareth is the final adventure for CYST. It will see you venturing across the Crumbling World in search of the Gates of Geth, through which you shall enter into the Thinworld beyond and face The Dead One at last... It is A6 and 12 pages long. 

Should you fail in your quest and The Dead One invokes the final spell, the Vomit Gong shall be rung and all turned to dust! As well as The Gardens of Gargareth you'll also receive another zine called Vomit Gong, which is an 8-page apocalypse for CYST.

As this is the final adventure for CYST, I'd just like to thank everyone who's ever read that game or any of my other adventures or zines for it, it's honestly really appreciated :)  I will definitely still be working on zines and tabletop stuff, but I feel there's more than enough 'official' adventures for CYST now and want to work on different things. As much as I love the ultra-light rules and coin-flipping stuff, I definitely wanna sink my teeth into something crunchier now!

I actually wrote a lot of Vomit Gong before CYST. It was originally a zine called WARLOCK in which you venture across a procedural wasteland searching for the creature known only as Warlock, wielder of The Talisman and granter of wishes. Some of the text from that went into Pangram, some into The Great, Immortal Ing, then most of it went into the Wasteland Minizines, and what is left has now become Vomit Gong. That original version was very reminiscent of the board game Talisman which has been a massive inspiration. I may revisit the idea of WARLOCK and release it in the future!
